Private commissions of the people who matter most — a parent, a child, a stage in family life.
Is there someone in your life you want to celebrate in a way that always remains poignant?
Perhaps a parent is reaching a milestone birthday. A child who is growing up too fast. A person you love, at a moment that matters.
What would it feel like to give someone a portrait made entirely around them — by an artist who had taken the time to truly understand who they are? Not a gift chosen from a shelf. Not repeatable. Made only once and only for them.
I spend time before I paint — listening, asking questions, looking carefully. The patterns and details surrounding my sitters come from what I've learned about that person: where they come from, their heritage, the things that have shaped them. The painting sees them fully, and with warmth.
One client commissioned a portrait of herself as a gift to her husband — to mark their anniversary, and a difficult year that had changed them both.
"We completely surprised him! He is very impressed by your talent, not to mention the way you tied our heritage together. So beautiful. Thank you for the lovely message you included in the envelope. My husband was reading it aloud, and it brought him to tears. You have given us a truly priceless gift."
If this sounds like the portrait you've been imagining, the first step is a simple conversation — a relaxed discovery call where we get to know each other and explore whether my work feels right for you. I'd love to hear about the person you have in mind, and the moment you want to commemorate.

Common questions
How does the commissioning process work?
Every commission begins with a discovery call — a relaxed conversation about the person you have in mind and what you hope the portrait will convey. We then discuss scale, medium and the patterns that will shape the painting. Once these are agreed, a price can be confirmed and a simple agreement secures the commission.
What does a portrait commission cost?
Prices vary depending on size, medium and whether the piece is framed in an antique frame. The commissions brochure includes a full range of price examples, from small mixed-media works to large oil portraits. Please request the brochure using the form above.
How long does a portrait take?
Most commissions take between three and six months from our first conversation to the finished painting, depending on scale and complexity. We will agree a realistic timeline together at the start.
